Western Ave, Glen Ellyn
“Our kitchen is crowded, our bathroom is outdated, and the bedrooms have not been touched since the eighties. It was time for a refresh that would bring comfort, function, and timeless style back into the home.
The kitchen was partially opened to the family room, creating better flow and visibility while adding much-needed cabinet space. A custom-built peninsula was incorporated to serve as both a prep area and casual dining spot — perfectly scaled to enhance the layout without crowding it. The space features full-height cabinetry, black granite countertops, and a ceramic tile backsplash, all accented by recessed LED lighting and a pair of pendant lights above the peninsula.
The bathroom received classic upgrades, including a subway-tile shower with built-in corner shelves, brushed nickel traditional-style fixtures, and a textile-pattern floor tile that adds personality and warmth.
Throughout the home, refinished hardwood floors in a rich dark walnut stain, new Climate Guard vinyl windows, and a Craftsman-style doors and trim package bring the entire design together — a thoughtful balance of comfort, function, and charm.
